If your looking for something spectacular to see and fabulously exciting to actively participate in, then next March, make sure you get to Canberra for the very thrilling Festival of Balloons help between Saturday 6 to Sunday 14 March 2010.
There are over 50 balloons expected to participate in the coming Canberra Festival Balloon Spectacular, where each morning at sunrise, the ritual of inflating the balloons are held on the lawns of the Old Parliment House. You can either just go along as an interested spectator or actively participate by taking a balloon flight on one of these fabulous excitement machines. There is a host of activities included with hot breakfasts and live bands performing throughout the morning.
The action begins at 6.30 am, when the burners fire up, creating a spectacular sight that can only be described as amazing. The balloons then take to the air over Lake Burley Griffin, so get there early to enjoy all the action.
The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is just part of the yearly Canberra Festival, 9 days of action packed fun, with over 30 events including Lights! Canberra! Action!, a fabulous film making festival, Indy Fest, Festival of the Forests and the gala Bush Capital Ball.
Add the very special showing of Masterpieces from Paris at the National Art Gallery at that time, and Canberra will be a very special place to be if your serious about having fun. You don’t have to be an art lover to enjoy classics from Van Gough, Cezanne or Paul Gauguin. Everyone enjoys good art and this is a collection of the best from the worlds greatest artists. (The Masterpieces from Paris exhibition runs from December 4, 2009 to April 5, 2010.)
So remember the dates for the Canberra Festival for 2010. 6th to 14th March. It will be spectacular.
